CourtView Court Management Computer System Upgrade

Legal Department / Area Courts
Departmental Goals 

• Increase our ability to provide complete, accurate and timely information regarding both pending and disposed cases to the courts, the criminal justice system, and the general public despite ever increasing mandates under state law.     

• Improve efficiency and increase productivity by integrating technology into current procedures and practices.

• Standardization of practices and procedures among departments.

• Increase employee knowledge, skills and productivity through training and other learning opportunities.

Departmental Objectives

• To increase revenue available through the proactive collection of court costs, applications for grant monies, and working with organizations such as the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association and the state legislature to develop additional users fees to offset the financial burden of local taxpayers (example: computerization fees).

• Continue CourtView court management computer system project. Departmental implementations are set for completion in year 2005. 

• Develop departmental-specific strategic plan encompassing performance measures and benchmarking initiatives. 

• Continue implementation, evaluation and monitoring of recommendations contained in the Auditor of State – County Courts Performance Audit completed in Year 2002.

• Continue implementation of Supreme Court of Ohio-Court Security Grant Project initiatives in the year 2005.

Departmental Objectives

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to aggressively promote the newly established Title Department-Sebring Branch Office.  

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to expand E-Titling as a titling option for area car dealers.

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to promote passport photo service to our customers.

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to become one of the pilot Counties chosen for the State-BMV E-Lien project. 

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to expand services to include processing of watercraft registrations. 

• A proactive initiative is currently underway to provide the best service possible in regards to the additional duties of processing automobile registration services on a limited authority basis (LADR) and monitor BMV pilot project initiatives (additional revenue source).       

New Services: 

Per the CourtView court management computer system upgrade project, public access to case information is now available on-line for both the general public and the legal community.
