Lost or Found a Dog?
What if you lost your dog?
Hopefully he’s wearing his current dog license; if we find him we will call you right away.
If a neighbor finds him and calls in the license number we will be able to give them the owner information from our records.
Even if he’s wearing his license and especially if he’s not, I suggest:
1. Call the Dog Warden to report him missing, 330-740-2205 ext. 2, we will take a description, look in the kennel and check our “found’ dog list.
Be able to tell us;
a. the address or location the dog was last seen
b. is the dog a male or female
c. what color is the dog
d. approximately how tall or how much does the dog weigh
e. the date he went missing
f. be as descriptive as possible, does he have any distinguishing marks, ( stub tail, ears stick up, etc.)
2. Call other organizations that deal with animals such as animal charity @ 330-783-0645 and Angels for Animals @ 330-549-1111 to be listed on their lost & found record.
3. Canvas your neighborhood, check with your neighbors
4. Call your local Police; some will take information about a lost or found dog.
5. Put an ad in the classified section of your local newspaper.
6. Armstrong cable will put your lost dogs picture on T.V.(FREE) if you e-mail a photo and description( where lost, sex, collar, tags)
7. Some radio stations will broadcast a description (where lost, sex, color, breed, type of collar).
8. It is your responsibility to look for your dog, if you can’t visit the pound to look for him, call back at least every other day to check new arrivals and new listings on the “found list”.
