 re:CREATE is an environmental reuse program. Reuse means using items again for the same purpose or a new one, instead of throwing them away. Reusing diverts usable materials from landfills, conserves natural resources, and saves money on disposal and supply costs.

 Through a small grant from the District, Youngstown State University operates the Materials Exchange Program for area businesses. Through this searchable database, companies may list as available or wanted any surplus inventory that may result from overproduction, production waste or surplus stock for exchange. The database is openly available not only to Mahoning County's industries but surrounding areas as well.
