This year the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Green Team held a joint operation to recover and reuse discarded Christmas trees from the holidays. The Division of Wildlife introduced 265 tree structures into West Branch Reservoir as natural fish habitat. This translates to about 832 trees that were recovered and about 510 cement blocks that were reused to tether the structures. In all, about 33.5 tons of materials were reclaimed for the benefit of Ohio anglers!
The Green Team would like to extend its thanks to the Division of Wildlife for their partnership and the residents of Mahoning County for allowing us to put good use to their old trees.
