JUDGE R.R. DENNY CLUNK
Judge R.R. Denny Clunk is a graduate of Mount Union College and Case Western Reserve School of Law. Judge Clunk practiced law for thirty years before becoming the Probate Judge of Stark County where he served eighteen years until his retirement.
As a retired assigned judge since 2003, he has been appointed and served as judge in twenty-two Probate Courts. In 2011, Judge Clunk was appointed for three months as Judge in the Summit County Probate Court after the retirement of Judge W.F. Spicer. In 2013, he served as Judge in Lake County Probate Court for six months after the death of Judge Ted Klammer.
Judge Clunk has served as President of the Stark County Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Probate Judges and the National College of Probate Judges (NCPJ). He received the Treet Award in 2003 from NCPJ as the outstanding Probate Judge in the nation.
He also received the Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice Award from Pope John Paul II in 2000 and the Lex Christi Award from the Diocese of Youngstown in 2005.
He has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s and American Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section for over fifty years.
Judge Clunk has been married to Jo for sixty three years and they have five children, seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
