Happy Birthday America
from Mahoning County!!
We start celebrating the Fourth of July as early as June 29th. Below are some of the details of the activities planned within the county for this year’s Independence Day celebrations.
Poland. June 29th Beginning at 7:00 PM - Parade from the corner of Coblentz down ST Rt. 170 to the Town hall 111 South Main then ending at the Fires Station. The Mahoning County Commissioners plan to participate in this parade. DJ and Food Vendors will be located behind the Town hall in the Baird Mitchell Field. Fireworks will be displayed at 10:00 PM in the Baird Mitchell Field.
Boardman. June 30th and July 5th
Boardman is having a double celebration this year. They are celebrating our countries 231st Birthday and their Boardman Township Park’s 60th Birthday all at the same time. On June 30th at 8:00 PM
the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus with 94 Members will be in concert at the Maag Outdoor Theatre. This group performs at the inaugurations of our presidents. In case of rain the performance will still be performed but the location will change to the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center.
June 30th at 10 PM BJ Alan – Phantom Fireworks presents Patriotic Fireworks.
July 5th at 7:00 PM the Ohio National Guard Band – 74 Members, will be performing at the Maag Outdoor Theatre. As with the U.S. Army Field Band Concert, in case of rain the performance will still be performed but the location will change to the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center.
Youngstown. July 3rd and 4th Sounds of Summer – Anthony’s On The River. Summer Fun Continues with 2 days of Fun and Entertainment.
July 3rd 5:00-6:00 DJ then from 7:00 – 11:00 PM Caribbean Night.- Direct from the Bahamas - Rudy and the Professionals
July 4th from 7:00-11:00 PM Frankie and the Sensations
Patriotic Fireworks Display by BJ Alan – Phantom Fireworks 10 PM at the River, B&O Station at the River

Canfield. July 4th The parade starts at precisely 10:10AM, leaving the Canfield Fairgrounds, proceeding north on South Broad Street to the Square. Once at the square, it circles due west and then comes back around the west end of the green area and ends on route 62 in the Middle School parking lot. The Mahoning County Commissioners plan to participate in this parade.
Prior to the parade there is a kid's race around the square at 8:30AM and an adult "Firecracker 4-mile run race" at 9:00AM. The green area will be closed from 8:30AM until after both races and the parade. Numerous activities will be held on the green from the end of the parade until the middle of the afternoon. Kids games will be coordinated on the north end of the green and other adult games and bands on center of the green. This is truly a homecoming day for many families living (or have lived in
Canfield). Unfortunately, this year there will NOT be fireworks; however, we have been told to expect a show to remember next year!
Struthers. July 4th Parade at 12:00 Noon starting at the 5th Street Plaza to Sexton Street to Poland Ave and back to the 5th Street Plaza. Fireworks will be held on July 14th in conjunction with Connie Mack Baseball Tournament.
Austintown. July 4th Austintown 4th of July Parade…Presented by the Austintown 4th of July Committee, Inc. and the Austintown Kiwanis. This has been an annual event since 1976 (began as part of Austintown’s celebration honoring the American Bicentennial). The parade steps off at 2pm on July 4. It begins at Kirk and Raccoon roads, heading north to Falcon Drive. This year’s Grand Marshal is boxing world title contender and Youngstown native
Kelly Pavlik. The parade theme is “Austintown Goes Hollywood”. The Mahoning County Commissioners plan to
