On any given day, every American makes dozens of purchase decisions—at the grocery store and the gas pump, to pay a taxi fare, or feed a parking meter, or to purchase a gallon of home heating oil. Mahoning County’s Auditor is the Sealer of Weights and Measures, thus protecting the public from possible loss that may occur from faulty measuring devices. For more information please visit the Weights & Measures Page. The Auditor's Office will be closed for staff training on Friday April 25th, 2008 from 12:00pm to 4:30pm. We will reopen on Monday, April 28th, 2008 at 8:00am. Thank you for your patience. |

| The Auditor serves as the county's chief fiscal officer, chief assessor, and sealer of weights and measures. As fiscal officer, the auditor is responsible for maintaining county financial records, issuing warrants (checks) for payment of county obligations and preparing the County’s Annual Financial Report (CAFR). As assessor, the auditor determines property values for taxing purposes and transferring real property deeds. And, as sealer of weights and measures, the auditor tests and certifies the accuracy of various commercial measuring devices. | | |
