Q: I have household items that I no longer need or want but that are still in usable condition. It seems a shame to just put them out with the trash. Is there something else I can do with them?

The Youngstown State University re:Create program provides many opportunities to get rid of unwanted, reusable items. Community based "Dump & Runs" creates a staging area so that citizens may bring non-hazardous, reusable items for charities to take and reuse. A monthly publication is also circulated to list "wanted" and "available" items for public exchange. More information can be obtained by contacting YSU re:CREATE at 330-941-2238 or visit their website.

Our How Do I Recycle...? page also shows many Mahoning County agencies and organizations that will accept donations of usable items.
