“The mission of the Mahoning County Board of MRDD is to provide ongoing programs, services and supports which assist eligible individuals with mrdd in choosing and achieving a life of increasing capability to live and work in the community to reach their full potential as members of society.”
What We Do:
The Mahoning County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD), established in 1967 by Senate Bill 169, exists to provide comprehensive services to eligible individuals.
The Board provides a wide variety of services to approximately 1,200 Mahoning County citizens with mental retardation and development disabilities. Since the Board is a tax supported agency, services are provided to eligible individuals at no cost.
The Board owns and operates seven (7) facilities in Mahoning County: Bev MASCO and Meshel MASCO, in Boardman; Leonard Kirtz School, the Board’s Administrative Offices, Centre @ Javit Court, Community Services, and the Transportation Maintenance Facility, all located in Austintown.
