July 5, 2006 - Lake Milton will Soon Have Public Water and Sanitary Sewers

After 20+ years of asking, five years of planning and an approximate $ 16 million dollars later, the installation of Public Water and Sanitary Sewer service to the properties surrounding Lake Milton is close to completion. To date, all of the waterline projects have been completed with the only remaining item being miscellaneous restoration of properties along the routing of the waterlines. The status of construction with reference to the sanitary sewers has the majority of the mainline work completed leaving the completion of the five additional pump stations. Improvements to the water system included the construction of the North Jackson elevated water storage tank and approximately seven miles of new waterlines, and an upgrade to the Webb Road water booster station. Improvements to the sanitary sewer system included the installation of approximately nine miles of sanitary sewers and five new sanitary pump stations.

just around the corner, the construction season has begun to pick up. Many homeowners are getting ready to put their winter plans into action and start their summer building projects.
But how do you know when you need a permit and when you don’t?
A building permit is required for new construction, alterations, additions, accessory structures, movement of structures, enlargement, change of occupancy, sign construction/replacement, swimming pools and demolition of structures. General maintenance and some types of projects do not require a building permit, i.e., painting, tiling, cabinets and counter tops, swings and play ground equipment, fences less than six feet in height. As always, it is best to call our office to see if your project requires a permit or if you have any questions on building in Mahoning County. To better serve our community we are centrally located at:
