The Victim/Witness Program works with victims and witnesses to keep them advised of the criminal law process and the status of their cases. Advocates will sit with victims in courtrooms during trial, and will serve as a liaison for counseling and compensation sources. Notification of defendant release dates is also provided. | |

A subpoena is a command for you to appear and testify on behalf of either the State (Prosecution) or the Defendant. Even if you believe you have no relevant testimony or factual knowledge of the case, you cannot be relieved from your attendance in court other than by the Judge who is presiding over the matter.
If you receive a subpoena, immediately look at the subpoena for the time and location of your expected appearance. If the subpoena was issued by an assistant prosecuting attorney, you can contact the Victim/ Witness Program at (330) 740-2082 with any questions.
