Judge Dellick swore in 6 new CASA volunteers this past year. The CASA Program currently has 28 volunteers and 78 children were served. This is about the same as the previous year. CASA plans on having another CASA volunteer training starting in September 2020. The CASA training is 30 hours. 15 hours in the classroom and 15 hours online.
The St. Charles Cub Scout Pack 114 and Iron Order MC Motorcycle Group donated toys to the CASA children. The program also received 40 duffle bags filled with toiletry items, teddy bears, and coloring books. CASA had an overabundance of toys and other departments at the JJC benefited as well.
The CASA Board of Directors will be honoring our volunteers at an appreciation breakfast on April 17th. The Board enjoys the opportunity to meet the volunteers and hear about their work. (It’s all confidential, of course.) The Board has also invited Judge Dellick, the Magistrates, and the case managers to the breakfast as a way of thanking them for their support of CASA.
